Claims

  1. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 60 healthy volunteers, psilocybin (0.17 mg/kg) acutely decreased task-based convergent thinking and divergent-thinking fluency and originality relative to placebo, while increasing subjective ratings of insightfulness; seven days later the psilocybin group generated more novel ideas than placebo.
"Acutely, psilocybin increased ratings of (spontaneous) creative insights, while decreasing (deliberate) task-based creativity. Seven days after psilocybin, number of novel ideas increased."
