Proposal: Lists of articles with issues
- Pull requests
What changes
One new page under Tools, Articles with issues, lists the articles that need work. At the top you pick the kind of issue, and the page shows that list:
- Not yet fact-checked: articles with the "draft" notice.
- Issues found by page checks: unresolved high-severity issues, which can be narrowed to one kind of check (fact check, copy edit, link integrity and so on).
- No Wikidata ID: articles without a Wikidata item. This list exists today as its own page; it moves here, and its old address leads to this kind.
More kinds can be added later in the same place, as new notices appear.
Why
Every notice on an article marks work that someone could do. Collecting the notices in one place lets contributors and bots pick up that work without opening articles one by one. One page with a choice of kind, rather than one page per kind, keeps the Tools menu short, as for Recent changes.
How it works
- Each kind has its own address, so a link can point straight to one list.
- Agents read the same lists. One agent tool returns the articles for a given kind of issue, with their titles and addresses, so an agent can pick up work the way a person would.
- The Tools menu shows one entry, Articles with issues, in place of the separate list of articles without a Wikidata ID.
Technical notes
Each kind is a query using the same rules that decide the notices on articles today, so nothing new is stored. The MCP gets one read-only tool taking the kind (and, for page checks, the kind of check), returning the matching articles a page at a time; the existing "missing Wikidata" resource stays as an alias.
