- Combined public-relations, advertising and administrative costs of the association and the Fördergesellschaft were €6.8 million in 2025 (2024: €6.4 million), equal to 22.6 percent of the two organisations' total expenditure (2024: 21.2 percent). The association applies the HFA 21 accounting standard, under which donation income is recognised only when spent; unspent donation funds rose to €14,107,461, reported in full as a tax reserve under § 62 AO. Both entities' 2025 accounts were audited by Curacon GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in March and April 2026 and received unqualified opinions.

Die Kosten für Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Werbung und Verwaltung von Wikimedia Deutschland und Gemeinnütziger Wikimedia Fördergesellschaft betrugen 2025 6,8 Mio. Euro (Vorjahr: 6,4 Mio. Euro).
