- The 2024 annual report states that although the task of raising donation funds has fallen to the association itself since 2023, the wholly owned Gemeinnützige Wikimedia Fördergesellschaft mbH forwards funds to partners. In 2024 the association transferred €4.3 million to the subsidiary, while the subsidiary forwarded €9.7 million to the Wikimedia Foundation in the USA (previous year €8.9 million) and €0.7 million to other partners. The subsidiary's unused donations fell to €0.2 million from €3.3 million the previous year. Other revenue of the association rose to €6.7 million in 2024 from €5.2 million in 2023. The 2024 accounts of both organisations were audited by Solidaris Revisions-GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, with an unqualified opinion, and combined public relations, advertising and administrative costs were 21.2 percent of total expenditure, against 23.5 percent in 2023.
