- In June and July 2015 an initiative began to preserve freedom of panorama, which permits pictorial reproduction of copyrighted works in public space without the author's permission, after a European draft threatened to restrict it; more than 4,500 people signed an open letter to members of the European Parliament. From February 2018 the association campaigned against upload filters in the European copyright reform. On 21 March 2019 the German-language Wikipedia was switched off entirely for 24 hours in protest, the first time access to it had been blocked in its history; the directive was adopted by the European Parliament on 26 March.

Für 24 Stunden ist die Online-Enzyklopädie komplett abgeschaltet. Der Blackout geschieht am 21. März 2019.
