Claims

  1. In 13 Walla Walla Valley bee beds in 2010–2011, counts of emergence holes in 0.5 m² quadrats during July correlated strongly with overwintering prepupae counted from soil cores in October (r² = 0.73 in 2010; 0.94 in 2011), supporting the nondestructive method for informing decisions on supplementary leafcutting bee (Megachile rotundata) deployment.
