taxonomy

Copaifera langsdorffii was first published by Desfontaines in Mémoires du Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle 7: 877 (1821). The species is placed in the family Fabaceae and has three accepted infraspecific varieties: var. glabra, var. grandifolia, and var. langsdorffii.
