Claims

  1. Mean oleoresin yield from first tapping was 0.07 litres per tree for all trees drilled, and 0.23 litres per tree for trees that produced any oleoresin at all — far below anecdotal reports of 2 litres or more per tree. Mid-sized trees (45–65 cm DBH) yielded the most; small, very large, and hollow trees produced negligible amounts.
