- Proxima b, found by measuring Doppler shifts in Proxima Centauri's light, has at least 1.3 Earth masses, orbits about 7 million km from its star every 11.2 days, and lies within the star's habitable zone. Its surface may be strongly affected by ultraviolet and X-ray flares, and one side probably faces the star permanently.
