According to ALQST's Arabic profile: an appeals court raised the five-year sentence to 32 years in mid-2022; in 2023 the Supreme Court overturned that ruling and reduced it to 25 years; on September 2, 2025 the appeals court reduced it to 14 years; in February 2026 the Supreme Court upheld the 14-year sentence. He was tried on charges related to inciting public opinion, and observers were barred from the trial sessions.
