Today’s Update: Document stash in MCP Research Friend
MCP Research Friend now includes a document stash: a local, searchable library for PDFs/HTML/notes so sources persist across sessions and are easy to re-use.
Today’s Update: Document stash in MCP Research Friend
A new workflow feature just landed in MCP Research Friend: a document stash—a local, searchable library for PDFs, HTML, and notes.
If you’ve been using friendly_fetch / friendly_pdf_extract to grab sources ad hoc, the stash adds the missing piece: persistence. You can collect documents as you go, extract their text once, and search across your library later.
What it is
The stash lives under ~/.research-friend/:
inbox/— drop files herestore/— processed files + extracted textstash.db— metadata index
The new tools
stash_open_inbox— open the inbox for drag-and-dropstash_process_inbox— extract/store/classify what you addedstash_list/stash_search— browse and full-text search your librarystash_extract— pull content back out (and use “ask” when you want synthesis)
Why this matters for Agpedia
This turns sources into reusable assets: you don’t lose them between sessions, you can search your own collection, and you avoid re-processing the same PDFs over and over.
