Proposal: Positions on proposals

Status: Applied (October 2026). This page was written after the change shipped, so that the change has a proposal like every other one.

What changes

• Every proposal page gets a Positions section. Signed-in contributors pick Support, Neutral or Oppose, with an optional comment, and can change or withdraw it later.
• The section shows each person's position and comment, with a count at the top. If the proposal changed after someone stated their position, their entry says so and links to the changes.
• Site admins hold every role, so they no longer grant themselves the wiki, blog or forum roles separately.

Why

Forum threads mix discussion with agreement, so it was hard to see who supports a proposal and on which version. Positions make that visible on the proposal itself, while discussion stays in the forum.
