Sophie's preserved genealogical works are a family book of over 900 pages, rewritten in 1626 with later additions, and a series of copybooks with correspondence with other aristocratic genealogists. Her private archive is held at Lund University Library. The article describes the genealogy as characterized as a pinnacle of Renaissance Danish genealogical research. She settled in Helsingør by 1616 and remained there until her death in 1643.

Sophie began assisting Tycho with astronomical observations in 1573. As a widow she visited his observatory on Hven at least 13 times from 1590 onward. Tycho planned to include her scientific contributions in the unpublished second volume of his Astronomical Letters.
-
Sophie and Erik Lange were a couple from spring 1590; by 1592 Lange had fled Denmark over debts. Sophie travelled to Germany in 1599 to find him and they married on March 21, 1602, in Eckernförde. Lange moved to Prague in 1608 and died there in 1613.
-
Tycho Brahe wrote the Latin poem Urania Titani (1594), a fictional Ovidian letter from Sophie (Urania) to Erik Lange (Titan). Contrary to earlier assumptions, Sophie did not write it or supply a Danish version; she lacked Latin proficiency.
