Claims

  1. In a counterbalanced study of 10 participants undergoing psilocybin sessions for tobacco smoking cessation, mystical-experience scores tended to be higher during overtone-based music sessions than during Western classical sessions, and 6 of 10 participants chose the overtone-based playlist for a third session, leading the authors to question whether Western classical music holds a unique benefit.
"These data call into question whether Western classical music typically used in psychedelic therapy holds a unique benefit."
