- On March 2, 2015 the association announced Christian Rickerts as Pavel Richter's successor as executive director, describing his background as co-founder and later managing director of Schüler Helfen Leben e. V., strategy consultant at Capgemini, managing director of Reporter ohne Grenzen in Germany, and since 2012 vice president for corporate communications at the Bertelsmann Stiftung. In a reply beneath the article the author confirms that Jan Engelmann had been interim executive director since May 2014, and was therefore not Richter's substantive successor.

Nachdem im Mai 2014 für viele überraschend Pavel Richter als Vorstand von Wikimedia Deutschland abgelöst worden war, wurde heute via Blogeintrag Christian Rickerts als dessen Nachfolger präsentiert [...] Es stimmt, dass Jan Engelmann seit Mai 2014 interimistischer Vorstand war, aber damit eben nicht der eigentliche Nachfolger.
