Three years before 51 Pegasi b, Alex Wolszczan (Arecibo Observatory) and Dale Frail (National Radio Astronomy Observatory) announced two Earth-mass planets orbiting the millisecond pulsar PSR B1257+12; the results were presented in January 1992 at an American Astronomical Society meeting in Atlanta.
